JOHNNY AND THE SELF ABUSERS!

Johnny & the Self Abusers were one of Glasgow, Scotland's few punk bands, albeit a rather bizarrely entertaining one. Hailing from the city's south side, their gigs featured their own light show, replete with DayGlo skulls. They also looked the part, wearing generous amounts of makeup; one of the singers, who often went by the name Pripton Weird, lacked eyebrows. Signed to the Chiswick label, the group released one single in late 1977, Saints and Sinners. Inner turmoil busted up the band around the time of its release, dividing it into two factions: Alastair Mackenzie, Michael McNeil, Donald and John Milarky formed the Cuban Heels; while Charlie Burchill, Brian McGee, and Weird (better known as Jim Kerr) formed Simple Minds. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide

And here are some cool demos from the band:

THE SLITS

THE SLITS live on the john peel radio show!
(stolen from wikipedia)The Slits are a UK punk rock band. The quartet was formed in 1976 by members of the bands The Flowers of Romance and The Castrators. The members were Ari Up (Arianna Forster) and Palmolive (Paloma Romera, who later left to join The Raincoats), with Viv Albertine and Tessa Pollitt replacing founding members Kate Korus and Suzy Gutsy. Palmolive was replaced by male drummer Budgie (aka Pete Clarke), formerly of The Spitfire Boys and later to join Siouxsie & the Banshees.
Anyway, all that aside, here`s a great bootleg of the slits live on the john peel radio show.Enjoy!!

THE JERRY NOLAN BAND

THE JERRY NOLAN BAND live at Gildersleeves on the 7th October 1983.It`s one of those gigs that has taken me a long long time to get my grubby little paws on.
Its a really great show and has a guest appearance by Walter Lure. The sound quality is pretty good as well. The whole gig is recorded as one track.i was going to split it,but as it took me so long to get i thought i`d not tamper with it.anyway.i hope you enjoy it.here it is:

i`ve re-loaded this one, so it should be working again!

THE NEW YORK DOLLS

THE NEW YORK DOLLS,are in my opinion, the greatest rock n roll band of all time!It just doesnt get any better!!They`ve got the greatest guitar licks, vocals, attitude, everything!
For those who dont know who they are,"you know where the door is",and for those that do,you`re in for a treat here. Its a recording by the latest incarnation which see`s johnny thunders being replaced by steve conte (who in my opinion fits the bill),Arthur Kane is replaced by ex Hanoi rocks bassist Sami Yaffi and jerry Nolan is replaced on drums on drums by Brian "fancy pants"Delaney. The two surviving dolls are vocalist David Johansen & Guitarist Sylvain Sylvain. The band are as tight as they ever were as this concert shows. It was recorded at the peace and love festival in Borlange,Sweden 07/07/06,and is a really great recordeing.I hope you all enjoy it.
